Mickleham was established in 1855 when a Wesleyan school opened its doors and in 1871 a public school replaced it. During the 1850s a roadhouse which also operated as a hotel and post office opened. Today the school and the old post office are registered on the National Estate.
32km North of Melbourne’s CBD you’ll find the booming suburb of Mickleham. Mickleham has it all, from nature reserves to popular wedding venues such as Marnong Estate. Previously it was recognised as the name of an arterial road joining the airport to Melbourne’s outer northern suburbs, today it’s a booming suburb.
The choice is yours for train stations between Craigieburn or Donnybrook as it’s only a 10 to 15 minute drive from Mickleham. Travel to the CBD via the M2 freeway or catch the bus.
There is a range of school options in Mickleham and surrounding suburbs including Mickleham Primary School, Hume Anglican Grammar and Mother Teresa Catholic Primary School. For secondary schooling there is Mount Ridley College and Kolbe Catholic College.

The park is an ideal place for walking and cycling, you can also enjoy a picnic with amenities available.
Visit the popular tourist attraction in neighbouring suburb Craigieburn, Mount Ridley Lookout. Look at the picturesque views of the surrounding area, including Melbourne’s city skyline, the Yara Valley, and the Macedon Ranges. There are several walking trails leading up to the lookout as well.
