There have been two towns named Donnybrook in Victoria, the first has been renamed as Kalkallo and the second was previously named as Rocky Waterholes, to be renamed as Donnybrook. The Donnybrook we know today was established in 1840 and was an important coach stop during the gold rush. However, in 1872 it went into decline after the railway line opened.
