Lovely Banks is named after the description of the land with great views of Geelong and Corio Bay. The first buildings were constructed in the 1870s including a chapel, school and service reservoir for Geelong’s water supply and operated for several decades as tangible markers of Lovely Banks.
In its early days Lovely Banks was an agricultural and rural area, today it is establishing as a residential area connecting to Geelong suburbs of Bell Park, Corio and Norlane.
