Interior trends in 2022

Trends are always changing and evolving, giving us the opportunity to explore new textures, materials, combinations and colours along the way.

Whether you love to have a home that reflects the most current trends in interior design, or you just like to get inspired and incorporate bits and pieces of what’s coming through, we’ve summed up some of the key interior trends of 2022.

Country meets contemporary

There’s something about a country style home that is incredibly inviting and comforting. In 2022 we are seeing those elements we love about the country style taking a more contemporary approach. Less rustic, more refined. This means sticking with warm leathers and timbers but balancing with warm whites, light linens and silk.

Masculine Hamptons

You might even see this style as Mamptons, but we’re not so sure about that name! Whatever you want to call it, it’s a marriage of the much-loved Hamptons style with a masculine edge. There’s still a white base, but we’re seeing more masculine features added such as black stools and light fittings. It’s Hamptons but moodier, with balanced light and shade.

Organic textures

Going natural is trending the world over. Natural materials have plenty of textures and colours to work with — think timber and natural stone. Handmade products utilising materials that connect us with nature, bring an organic feel to the home. Think curved objects and raw materials.

Coastal vibes

Will coastal interior styling elements ever not be a trend? Coastal is here to stay it seems! Again, incorporating natural materials and textures, coastal interiors invite traits that are specific to the seaside. Driftwood, rope features, copper and glass are perfect to create a coastal space. As far as colours go, whites, tans and beiges with accents of blue, coral or green can set the tone for a coastal home.

Bringing trends together in your home

It can be tempting to simply pick a trend and run with it, but feel free to get creative too. Many of the trends we outlined for 2022 combine elements from a range of more traditional interior design styles to create something new and fresh.

In bringing together bits and pieces that you love from a variety of sources of inspiration, you can create something uniquely you.
